I am not sure if someone has created a thread like this, but I thought it would be interesting.

For everyone that has taken the DAT what was your "pregame" plan the day before and the day of the test.

Listing:

1. Study methods (examples might include flashcards, outlines ect.)
2. How they dealt with emotions?
3. What food they ate, if any?
4. How much sleep they got the night?
5. Anything else that may be interesting or beneficial.

1. Study methods (examples might include flashcards, outlines ect.) - Went through my notes for a couple hours, focused more on stuff I was missing in the practice tests
2. How they dealt with emotions? - Was pretty calm since I was gaining more confidence with the practice tests. Went for a walk the night before to get some fresh air before sleep. Woke up and felt pretty calm until I got to the actual computer to take the test. Once the test started, couldn't really think of how I was feeling since I was too consumed by the test.
3. What food they ate, if any? - Regular dinner the night before. Cereal the morning of, and took some fruits and granola bars for break, had a granola bar and part of a banana during break.
4. How much sleep they got the night? - Planned for at least 8 hours, but got around 6.5-7
5. Anything else that may be interesting or beneficial. - Try to stay as calm as possible. If you put in enough time before hand, you should not feel nervous and have the mindset that you're gonna destroy the test. Once you're there, you will get nervous, but try and calm yourself down everytime those emotions start affecting your performance.

1. just study, read books. I studied last minute, literally in the car ride (it was long) and then in the prom. center.
2. You can't deal with them, they are emotions. I got nervous in last week and wanted to postpone. I sort of picked a date that would not allow postponement. During test, my emotions saved me. I was so nervous, but I think it was like 300 the movie "alertness" so it helped.
3. Ate oatmeal for breakfast then 3/4 a rockstar before the test started.
4. Slept 8-9 hours. I sleep like a pro.
5. Umm...I was a wreck during test so maybe you will be too. Just hope you work well under pressure.

good luck
