Hey guys,
I'm somewhat clueless on the DAT procedure. When should I take it? when should I register for it? I've heard that April is a good time, but is there a specific date?
I'm planning to apply this year. I'd really appreciate any and all help!

The DAT is offered anytime you want to take it after you register for it. When you register, I believe you have 1 year to take the test. So, you don't have to take it right away when you register. Also, once you register, ADA will send you confirmation and once you receive that, you can schedule a test. When you schedule from online, you choose the area that you live in and a bunch of testing centers will appear on your screen. You then just pick which one and at what date you want to take it. That simple! Take the test when you are ready. Applications begin in May for Cycle 2006, so I would schedule my test in either April, May, June, or even July. But again, if you're ready before then, by all means take it! Sooner the better because if you end up scoring bad, you have to wait 3 months before taking it again. Hope this helps. 😀

apply as early as possible, so around june-july would be best. so u can take ur dat in may or june and u would be fine.
good luck!

FYI: if for some reason your in a real hurry to register for the DAT, I believe that you can go directly to www.prometric.com and put in your name and SSN and sign up for a date. You don't need to wait for the ADA letter to get to you by snail mail; all you have to wait for is ADA to process your information which in my experience was actually pretty fast. Your processed as soon as prometric recognizes your SSN.

hope it help 🙂
