Hi Everyone,

I am planning to take my DATs again and was planning to take in Mid June (19th) for example. Would this still allow me to complete and send in my application in the first batch?

Thank you for the help

Your application would go out whether or not your DAT scores are in (assuming your GPA is verified prior to the 1st batch), as soon as your DAT scores are in, they would go out in the next mailing. Since it usually takes 2-3 weeks, your DAT scores may be sent in the 2nd batch which doesn't matter in the long run and is considered early.

IMO, you should just wait for the second DAT score to appear on AADSAS before you send your primaries out.

As sjv said, you can actually send the application out if you have your GPA ready. However, they will also send out the previous DAT score. This can be a problem. Some schools won't realize that you are retaking DAT and will start reviewing your application with your previous DAT score. Thus, you will have to notify them all and you need to make sure that they will hold the application until the new DAT score is received.

That being said, I think you should just wait for your second DAT score to be uploaded on AADSAS, since you will want them to wait for the new DAT score anyway....

I don't think being in the first batch put you in a significant advantage than the second or third. However, if you still want to be included in the first batch, you can just take the DAT earlier. 🙂

First batch, third batch, fifth batch... it doesn't make a difference. Just get it in by mid-July and you are absolutely golden. Plenty of schools don't even start looking until August. Your scores will take 2-3 weeks to upload. I would WAIT until they come in before submitting. At the very worst, you'll have everything in by mid-July, which is totally acceptable. If you submit beforehand--even if you check the box that you are retaking the DAT--schools may see your first scores and then not care to look back for quite some time. I'd want my new, improved scores to be in before submitting.
