So I just took my DATs and I'm wondering if my score is good enough to get into schools. My GPA isn't that great, 3.3 cum and a 3.0 science. DAT scores were:

Bio 24
Gen chem 20
ochem 20
total science 21
PAT 19
RC 20
QR 17
AA 20

those are solid scores buddy. Nice 21 in sciences, and that bio score is awesome! Most ppl are struggling with that section. Any study tips? What'd you use for it?
And don't worry about that QR score. I think with a 20/21/19 most applicants would apply and, if you apply early, you should get some interviews.

I like your bio score. How did you study for that section?

So even with the low gpa, it'll still be a high enough score to be considered? I just figured I should have a really high dat score to offset the gpa...

I used kaplan to study, and also the dat destroyer. as far as the bio goes, I think the dat destroyer was really helpful because it goes into much more detail than kaplan did. However, I'm also a bio major so I think the extra bio classes I've had definitely helped.

Your GPA and DAT scores are pretty similar to mine...
Good to hear positive responses.
Good luck!

I think the gpa is gonna seriously bust your balls. But you're dee ats look good, if you have good EC and rec letters and apply to the right schools you should get atleast a few interviews.

You don't have to worry about your DAT scores. They're fine! However, there is the false idea that your DAT score will compensate for a low GPA or vice-versa. Most schools consider both of these scores; they plug them into a formula and assign each applicant a score, which is what the admission committee really looks at in order to determine whether or not they want to invite you for an interview. However, different schools weigh GPA and DAT differently; some focus on high DAT scores (example: UCLA) while others focus on high GPA. If you go to www.predents.com, you can rank schools based on different criteria, and you can see which schools favor higher DAT scores and which schools look for higher GPAs. At the end, your academic performance is a combination of your GPA and your DAT, neither one can mask the other. But overall, I think you have a very good chance to get some interviews during this cycle.

Good Luck👍

Cool, I just checked out the ranking thing. So, if a school is lower on a list for gpa but higher in DAT, that means that it looks at the DAT more heavily? Wasn't sure if I was interpreting that correctly.

Yes! That's pretty much what it means. However, keep in mind that the admission criteria changes following the changes in the applicant pool, each year. So, nothing is 100%.
