Second time taking the DAT today, got frapped. Obviously, by the scores below, it did not go well.

PA 17
QR 16
RC 17
BI 16
GC 16
OC 16
TS 16
AA 16

I needed to get an 18 AA. I'm really pissed about these scores. I had a 23 (95th percentile) on the first DAT and got a 17 (25th percentile) today. The passages were hard, but I felt that I did well and haven't gotten anything less than a 21 on RC in practice tests.

So I'm thinking about an audit. My mouse at the testing center was not good and was hard to control. I don't know if this affected anything, but I'm willing to do if it is worth it. Does anyone know anything about this and if it can raise your score?

Please offer any advice. Thank you.

I don't know if an audit will help all those scores... bio, gchem, and ochem under 17 is an immediate red flag. Then again, I don't think it will hurt if you audit the test. Either way, it looks like a retake is in store...

I agree with the other poster. Save yourself the hassle of the audit [it won't really get you anywhere], study harder this time, and retake. You definitely won't get frapped next time. GL

It looks like I will need a retake in February for this cycle. This will be my third time taking the DAT. I used only the Kaplan BB for the first attempt and scored a 17. This time around i took the Kaplan online course, felt a lot more confident, but got frapped and scored a 16.

I haven't used Destroyer yet. I am considering getting this or I can study again free with Kaplan for the next 90 days, but I don't think that would help much more. Why is Destoyer so good and do you think it can help my improve my science scores so I can get an 18 AA?

Im using the Destroyer now. I think it is very good for the sciences. The questions are hard but even if you don't ge them right you can learn from them make sure you always look at the explanation in the solutions

I think There are several things that could help you with your grades. Firstly using only one source is very risky, esp if that source is kaplans. Destroyer, Cliffs, CDP. All of these will help.

A pretty consistent mouse.

lol so mean.

anyway, auditing is nothing but a waste of time and a hassle for both you and the adea. being FRAPPED isnt a good reason to request an audit also, and aim for something higher than an aa of 18. gluck

If your thinking about auditing for the simple reason of you got FRAPPED, then don't even put any more thought into it. That is like saying "I wasn't as prepared to do FRAP sections so I want a redo, forget everyone else who took the same test". This is honestly childish and a waste of everyone's time and ADEA resources. On the other hand if you genuinely feel like there were mistakes on your version of the test and am convinced it would have made a huge difference, then you can try auditing. I say try because more than likely, you'll just end up where you started.

I am thinking about auditing the test, not because I'm mad I got frapped and think it was a really hard test. Obviously it was, I studied my ass off, was getting 18+ on all of my practice tests, and ended up with a 16.

I am considering auditing because of how I do not believe I could have scored so low on RC. I was scoring very high on all of my practice tests and I felt confident that I at least had a 20 on the real test. Also, like other people said, I found 2-3 questions on the SNS and QR that seemed to have multiple correct answers. Of course, I could be wrong, because time was an issue.

I really don't know how the auditing process works and no one on SDN has been able to give a good answer. I know it's $50 and takes 4-6 weeks, but I do not want to spend the money if nothing ever changes.

I can still be considered for admission for this cycle with a retake in early March, but if i score at the national average for the DAT I will not need a retake. I have already taken the test twice (first time 17 AA), spent a lot of money, and do not want to take it again. Of course I will if its my only option to get to dental school next year. I am applying as a junior, and would be nervous taking the DAT three times before the end of my junior year.

I really don't mean to offend you with this, but why did your pre-health advisor let you apply as a junior with only an AA of 17?? Do you have a 4.0 or something? Typically you have to get well over a 20 to get in early, i.e. as a junior. You're better off waiting until you take some upper level bios, study your butt off this spring/summer, and do a retake. It sucks to take it a third time, I'm sure, but don't just keep retaking if you're not ready.

Well over a 20? 4.0? What more false information did you leave out. Just as an example, a friend from my school accepted to 4 schools with a 3.6 and 18AA and 19AA after finishing his junior year
