DAT Scores.. Should I retake ?

I got 20 TS, 19 AA and a PAT of 15.
My cummulative GPA is a 3.46. and my sciences are around a 3.37.

I know PAT is important, and I'm below the average. Do you think I should retake the DAT? Or are there any schools that don't mind a low PAT score..

I'm super worried, and would really prefer not to take it.

Agreed. You must retake. I think you will waste money applying if you do not improve that PAT.

Do you really think so? Im graduating this year.. i kinda dont have time to retake unless i reapply next year. I already sent my application to aadsas.

You still have some time. Even though you've applied, you can let the schools know that you're planning on retaking. It sucks to have to go through the process again, but I agree, I think that that may be too low... If you wait and don't retake it and then get rejected, you're just going to have to re-do the whole cycle again. But right now, if you improve your scores, you can still salvage this cycle.

If your ECs and LOEs are all great, then there's still a chance that you could get in somewhere. It's just a gamble. IMHO, it's much safer to retake the DAT (just constantly review everything else and study REALLY hard for the PAT).

Considering that it's the best indicator of success in the clinical years, I would say that many schools find the PAT a very important component of the application.

What was your method to study for it?

Some schools don't care much about PAT and not all schools are that black and white about cut-offs, especially with PAT. Is MWU-AZ on your list? I know a 14 PAT that got in. They don't really put much emphasis on PAT. In fact, Dr. Polk said it means nothing to him.

Contact the schools that you are most interested in. Make a simple phone call and cut right to the chase, "Do you have a cutoff for PAT scores?" Listen to their response and try to identify if they really care or not. Express to them that you really need to know.

Your AA and TS are very good, and your GPA is fine. Again, just call 1-3 of your top schools and talk to the admissions director. This is what I would do if I were in your spot, just saying.

Thanks, i called UF and they said the cutoff was a 15. I think i might end up retaking it :/ Im just not sure if i have enough time considering im applying for this cycle. and for MWU - yeah i put myself on there.

The thing is i studied for the PAT and did crack PAT. I just panicked on the test, and changed my method of doing completely. it screwed me up :/

I think that you still have time to retake it and still be considered for this year application cycle...I would inform all the schools that I am planing to retake it so they wont reject your application but put it on hold until they receive your new DAT score...

Try using CrackDatPat. It really helped me. 🙂
