hi guys, i have some noob questions:

1. i want to take the dat this july (haven't registered) and apply for 2010 admission come next application cycle. would that be too early to take the dat?

2. does the ada send the scores to the schools automatically, or can you request when the scores should be sent? if the scores are sent automatically, will the schools toss out the scores when application for 2009 closes, forcing me to request a re-send?

3. how do I get the ADA to send scores to schools that weren't on my original list?

I'm doing sort of the same thing. Taking the DAT at the end of August, and then applying for th 2010 cycle.

I've been wondering the same thing about sending our scores now! Do they throw DAT scores out after a certain point?? I've heard mixed things. Regardless, I am having the six free ones sent out.

Beyond that, it's something like $25 per school to send scores to afterwards. You do that on the DAT page on the ada's website. There's a form for it.

thanks, is there a difference between selecting more than 5 schools to receive your scores as you register to take the DAT and selecting the extra schools after you take the DAT? Both options would be $25 per school.

Can anyone give the lowdown on how the score sending works?

if you don't utilize your free 5 schools in the beginning, then you WILL have to pay for them later. so, i would have them sent to schools that you're almost certain you will apply to in order to avoid paying later. with the cost of applying, i'll do whatever i can to save $125.

once you take the test and you want to send your scores to other schools, you just fill this out and pay them their money!!👎
