From reading SDN, it seems like dental schools look at GPA then DAT is a close second. If you read some published studies about predictors for success in dental school, sGPA is the most significant predictor and is probably what d-schools focus on. Granted, this is a web forum and most of us have never seen the inside of an admissions committee meeting, so it's all speculation.

I currently have a 3.3 overall and 3.4 science I took a several practice Kaplan exams and I get overall of 21... on Orgo I'm getting 26 but math 16 -17 everything else is 19 and up but the math I'm struggling =( any prep courses for math

BOTH. i applied twice.

first time i had 21's across the board, but a 3.0gpa undegrad = 2 interviews: waitlist and rejected

then i took a masters did the thesis, retook my DAT and got 25ts, 24aa, but a 3.4 gpa = 2 interviews, 2 acceptances

BUT was told that my undergrad gpa was still a factor and hindered more interviews.

moral of the story --> don't f**k around in undergrad..too much

I did my f*king around that's why I have a 3.3 lol

I believe they are both important....butt I believe gpa is the more important counterpart because it tests ones ability over a long period of time...also the boards are now pass/fail which puts more weight on GPA in dental school to differentiate.

How about using periods at the end of sentences. I hope your PS is not one long run-on sentence.

Math Destroyer is a bit overkill I think. A SAT math book should be fine.

MATH Destroyer, for me, was one of my best investments for the DAT. I think it's definitely worth a look into if you're weak in math, or just want to sharpen your skills.

Chads Math Videos/MATH Destroyer two week before the exam is the way to go. I think doing all 12 tests is overkill but if you aren't good at math, go for it. I only did 5-6 and ended up with a 22. It's a good investment.

With math, I didn't go super fast like everyone always says to do.... I took my time and literally just ignored and immediately skipped over the weird, more complicated trig problems (lazy, didn't care, never using trig in my life) and tried to do everything else correctly. I think I skipped 2-3 of the harder trig problems?

Know your conversions, too... I think Chad goes over all the ones you need to know.
