hey ......are we foreign trained dentists eligible for DAT?
hello thx for makeing it clear and want to know if a forgein trained dentist took a complete 4 year predental course in 4 year university in usa does we have the option to pply as regular applicant with the complet predental bachlore's degree to the regular 4 year dds without including any forgein coursework in ? thx in advance
hello youth real thx for ur relpys , i did called two dental schools and they didnt satisfy my issue about which gpa they will take my forgein gpa or the aadsas gpa i will get after doing predental bachlor's degree in usa . do u know if i got a predental complete bachlors degree from 4 year usa university will i apply with that gpa i get in that predental bachlor's degree from 4 year usa university to apply to regular dds program as if im starting from scratch ?As I said before, prerequisite varies in different dental schools. I think some schools directly give you eligibility for DAT since you're already a FTD. Some may require you to do predental course for max. 1-2 years in order to complete the prerequisite classes. You should contact nearby dental school for more information.

You personally need to visit and meet an appropriate person at dental school, they may not answer well on phone. Anyways, I think getting eligibility for DAT is more important than worrying for which GPA would be considered later. Successful participation in the DAT Program requires completion of at least one year of collegiate education, which should include courses in biology, and general and organic chemistry. Advanced level biology and physics are not required. You should note that test scores are developed in relation to all examinees participating in the test and that most applicants complete two or more years of college (in your case, you already have a BDS, four year course completion) before taking the test. If you get the direct eligibility for DAT, BDS GPA may be considered. If you don't and are required to opt for predental classes for at least one year, your previous credits may get transfered to predental course that eventually will give you an AADSAS GPA to apply a four-year DDS program. Why don't you contact ADA directly? http://www.ada.org/dat.aspx
