I’m taking the DAT soon and I’m wondering what’s the best study material to use? I'm tight on money so I can't get both. I’m debating whether to go with DATBootcamp or DATBooster. I have heard really good things about DATBooster and everyone I know who used Booster has done really well with most saying the questions are very similar. But it’s new so I don’t know if it’s reputable. On the other hand I know most people use bootcamp but I noticed a lot of people don’t do well with it and it’s very expensive.

Can someone who has used both give me some advice? And is the DAT most similar to Bootcamp or Booster?

DATBooster is hands down the best. I took the DAT last week and the questions were very similar to DATBooster. I legit saw 10+ questions in the sciences that were similar/identical to my exam. No knock on bootcamp (still a good resource) but booster is a must.

I believe both helped me. Each resource was definitely representative, but in the end, they are both more difficult than the actual dat and stimulate your mind in a way that prepares you well. However, if money is an issue, I believe booster will definitely be sufficient enough. I also used their chemistry notes during my last week of study, which helped solidify my knowledge and also presented how some questions may be asked. Datbooster also lets you know if some questions are high-yield, which is definitely a plus, because they indeed are high yield.

I used CrackDAT in addition to destroyer and they both helped me a ton and got a good score. (plus I saved like half of what I'd pay for BC). No matter what material you do choose, however, make sure you do your research on how to get the most out of them. For me, it's do all the practice tests on CrackDAT to get the feel and timing down. And go through destroyer 2-3 times and review all the answers. It seems hard especially at first, but there's no substitute for exposure and repetition!

Thank you that helps. I've heard the same from everyone whose used booster so far.

If you don't mind me asking how did you end up scoring?

I used Booster and Bootcamp and can say that they are both great resources. Personally, I stuck mostly with Booster and received a 21 AA- I truly think if I spent maybe a week or two more with Booster I could have score +2/3 points, nonetheless I was content with my score.

I utilized both DATBooster and bootcamp, but I believe that DATBooster was much more representative. It had many questions that were similar to the actual exam and it also had the best PAT prep in my opinion. When I used DATBootcamps PAT I found that the tests after the first 2 were not similar to the exam at all, most of the questions were too easy for keyholes and TFE. I also paid a lot less for DATBooster, if you have the funds I would recommend going with both but If you can only pick one DATBooster would be the best choice.

How long did you study in total?

~6 weeks, however, I had just done an MBS program so most of the biology I was confident with, just had to refine my chemistry and math skills. If I could do something different it would be to focus on my weakest sections first within the subject you feel least confident.
