so many new things happening dis yr.....its really stressful....on wat basis nyu will grant intrvws n level of competition for this year........hope for the best n goodluck....
 
Wow, I'm kind of embarassed, my stats are lower than both of yours. However, I had/have three interviews. That's really weird. I guess experience?

m 2010 graduate...stayed 6 mnth in ma home country fter my degree...n hav 6 mnth exp out dre n 8-9 mnth experience in U.S.......
 
LLU, UCLA, and Buffalo....

erac i really feel you should give your exam before october end ....even when i called they were not too eager to get results later than dec 1....i wanted to write to u yesterday coz i know you have been preparing for it....but got busy.

from my past experience i would say only give dat if you are somehow prepared for it...best of luck

i personally feel nyu doesnt give much emphasis to part 2 scores also.....but if the addmission person said differently then i could be wrong.....however if someone has passed part 2 also i dont see that being as a disadvantage in any possible way
 
So, talking to Mara today I asked a few questions:

1) Is part 2 an advantage: yes
2) Will I have more chances as a re-applicant: to be honest, we will look at those applications after we've skimmed through the new applicants
3) Do our files from applying in previous cycles still remain? : Yes, we just need a CAAPID application to be submitted, the money order of 100$ and if you have taken any other exams or re-taken anything, the original sealed copy from resepective agencies.
4) How early should I send in my CAAPID: NOW.



I hope this helps a few because I had some of these questions running through my head. Now it's clear. I may not stand a great chance, but I now have Part 2 so hoping it boosts my application this year.

i know few ppl who got into nyu last yr.....wid part1 85,toefl-98,gpa-3.8 and part1-82,part2- 75,not very gud toefl scores.....unexperienced.......n dis yr PASS/FAIL have created big problems....!!!

hey erac can you tell me that if i select nyu at the time of registering my DAT then will MY DAT score report be automatically sent to nyu after 3-4 weeks or i need to directly send a DAT report after my exam as an additional report by paying some $$.........i have a little confusion because the DAT guide says the schools selected at the time of application would be updated with DAT score through AADSAS application and that i have not used because i am applying through CAAPID as an international dentist.....😕😕
Please can anyone clear this doubt..rest i am gonna call ADA IN A DAY...😕😕

Fax the copy of the DAT result to NYU......the official copy will tk 3-4 weeks....Faxing it directly to them will expedite the process👍
 
hi i saw website still not change in requirement ...so guys...is it ok to apply in nyu ..now or wait 4 changes the rules

the new rules are on the site...check properly...in both admissions section as well as faq's

What is the email address for advance placement program for Nyu?
Do they consider part 1 score more than 5 yrs old particularly this time??

no they dont consider if it has been taken 5 years back...

You don't have to, it's all on file. They only want the CAAPID, and the application fee.

I registered for DAT before they announced the change in the requirements.. Was confused wether to give DAT now or not.. That's why asked.

does nyu have a bench test??? anybody knows anything about their interview pattern??
 
now at this moment it seems...only good score in DAT will help....that too is just a try with maximum hard work in such a less time and is the only hope since there are 125 seats....such a dark phase!!!!!
 
i wish NYU extend its deadline..my 4-5 days got wasted due to sandy......🙁

Hey erac can't we give our DAT in the last week of November, may be on 27th or 28th and then fax our candidate copy to NYU on the same day?
This way we can get more time to prepare, how about this way?.......😎

i am doing the same way..no other option dear.......gng for last week...n still feeling i wont b prepared...dunno..finding it a big hurdle.........
 
hi i wd like to say something. dnt change date if possible. work hard n prepare yourself for the same date. be cofident.. i am sure u all ll get good score for sure. we have fear of what we havent seen.its human nature. i was also thinking same. but i remained firm on my decision of giving exam on d same dat as i decided. dnt let your moral break down. if you want to break anything, break dat. you will surly blast dat.if you can clear nbde than dat is also possible. my every day practice also included to buck up my own self. if you wont prepare your self morally u wont be able to do good on exam at any day. so first forget the word what will happen? and i dnt knw. good luck erac. go for it. i wish we all will meet in NYU together. good luck every one.
