hey what is the protocol on dating a tech?

what if theoretically theres a coworker who has awesome hair and skin, can you compliment him on it?

Any comment(s) made regarding a persons appearance, smell, or other items of a personal nature can be considered sexual harassment. I would highly advise not crossing that line.

I'd say if you're smooth about it and are not a total boner-shrinker, then yes. But you kinda sound like you might be a bit weird and likely not hot so you should refrain from indulging in said awkward compliment.

yeah, of course....y not? dating anyone is fine in this world....as long as u know what u're getting urself into. Heck, u can date ur bestfriend's mom.

"Hi there, I think u have very sexy hair and skin. TAKE ME NOW!!!!". If I were an SP at that store and overheard that, it would be an automatic writeup.

But yeh, that's very weird. This must be sort of troll posting, or someone actually living the dream...

A pharmacist dating a technician who works in the same store would definitely be questionable, and if I were a chain, I would definitely seek to move professionals who become romantically engaged because that could complicate the professional relationship and possibly best patient care practices. Also, anyone having a relationship with a subordinate, even if above-board, could give an air of harassment to those who are unaware of this- customers, other workers (favoritism, fraternalism), etc.. and may be awkward to the work atmosphere for others working there.

I heard a story once about a hospital where a doctor and a nurse were romantically engaged, and it was very awkward to other staff and to patients because they were very showy with their relationship in the workplace and it wasn't professional behavior.

An intern and tech.. I'd say that's a barely subordinate relationship.. It wouldn't offend me, but I would definitely move them if there were any reasonable suspicion one would cover for the other, mitigate work errors, be more lax upon checking, etc.. I would keep my eye on them a lot more. Because regardless of solicited advance by these two, the other workers still have a right to a professional atmosphere, so it would still be unsolicited by others.

There are many people out there who are married and work in the same offices, and do it well. It all depends on professionalism and tactfulness, and the nature of their jobs. When you go to work, you're there as a worker like anyone else.

As long as one is not a subordinate, or in the same workspace. Sure, why not.

But at work..In the military, that would be considered fraternalization- and fraternalization in any work place (depending on degree, of course) could have negative consequences and opens up cans of worms you probably never knew existed.

These "nice hair and skin" references are really starting to crack me up. I mean, I don't think I have ever even noticed hair or skin on a man other than if there was some hair or not or the color of hair...yet on that same note, I spend big time and big money on my skin/hair and not one man has said a damn thing about either one my whole life (other than the usual cheese of "oh, your hair smells so good" 🙄)......its all really weird, fascinating, and hilarious! Go for it! 👍

How are we suppose to know if we are one of those or not? Can we find it on our birth certificate? LMAO!! You are setting up this poor child because unless I am unaware of some new revelation, the only way to find out if one is a boner shrinker or not is to feel around for yourself (then again, I might be ol school) and aside from a gentlemen's club, this is usually instant grounds for termination at most places of employment

As long as one person has power over the other person, you run the risk of sexual harassment. With no HR department that means you go directly to court. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.00

With the new 340B regulation, you can now be a contract pharmacy for any 340B hospitals and clinics. Have you approached Tampa General or other community health clinics to be their contract pharmacy?

Not Yet...Been so busy with the ALFs and the regional conf in Denver coming up for Cardinal health...But we def need to do this! Thanks for the reminder!

Of course there are ways that are appropriate and there are ways that are kind of gross and would not accomplish your goal.

I have told you personally and on these forums that I think you are a beautiful woman. Is that out of line? It's actually a factual statement. Of course commenting on a particular feature can appear stalkerish. I really don't think it's wrong to tell a member of the opposite sex you are attracted to them. It's just has to be done with tact.

Nope! I see nothing wrong with complimenting someone. (As you said, assuming the power relationship issue is null).

Hair and skin is just so specific...and a little strange to start off with - especially with a guy. But who knows...maybe that's just me!
