New poster here, I didn't see a post on the Las Vegas job market so I was hoping someone could answer my question

I was curious to know how is the job market for Las Vegas for newly grads like myself? Though I'm from CA I am well aware the place is saturated with dentists, but is this also common in the Las Vegas. Obviously mileage may vary but what is the starting salary range in the Henderson/Clark County area. If the area is saturated should I expand my job hunt to all of Southern Nevada or Northwest Arizona?

note I did not do a GPR

Been here in Vegas since 1999..Two big insurance players in town:
1) Nevada Dental Benefits (NDB)

This is the old money...Practically every Las Vegas Casino employees are members of Culinary Union..And they are joined at the hip with NDB. I would call up every dentists who are NDB providers and fax your resume to them..
2) Nevada medicaid..thanks to obamacare medicaid expansion..enough said..
Doesn't really matter if you work for a medicaid or HMO office. You have to be very efficient with delivering dentistry..good luck.

thank you for the reply. So I'm guessing its just as oversaturated as SF, LA Chicago, Austin and NY. What about other places in southern Nevada?

Falling Oil Prices Make Fracking Less Lucrative

If oil prices stay low for an extended period of time..You may want to head to Arizona..Here in Nevada, Carson City tends to spread stimulus money around Northern Nevada (Reno and Lake Tahoe area)..I heard from my California silicon valley (mountain View) relatives as well silicon beach friends that Mountain Sacramento College (near Walnut) are planning to dramatically ramp up their issuance of I-20 to foreign students (mainly Chinese) to stimulate the local economy. Currently I am commuting back and forth between LA and Vegas on a biweekly basis. A group of healthcare providers/investors want to open up a long-term care facility that caters to the local and international autistic children..Hence I am familiar with southern California landscape..Hopefully that helps..
