What are the pros and cons and different practice models for new orthodontists such as those working in multispecialty DSOs vs. Ortho DSOs vs. large private ortho groups vs. small private ortho offices vs. going in-house with a GP/peds?
Are orthos generally classified as independent contractors or employees?
How is their compensation calculated in terms of daily rate and a percentage of production/active cases/starts?
I currently work at a DSO and I can see how GP/perio/OMFS/endo are compensated, but orthodontist jobs and compensation remains a mystery to me.
