Since my GME office is wholly unhelpful in this matter, I'm turning to you all.
I'm currently in fellowship (year 2 of 3). I have a federal DEA from my gap year between residency and fellowship that is set to expire next month. My fellowship program will not pay for a renewal because we fall under the institutional DEA as fellows. I am not doing any moonlighting, and don't plan on doing any moonlighting for the duration of my fellowship.
Is there any consequence to just letting my DEA license expire? If I was graduating in June, I might consider renewing it just to make things easier, but I still have another 19.5 months in the program. And I don't have $731 just lying around to use for such a purpose.
Thanks!
