Does anyone know how schools typically send out offers in December? By this, I mean do they generally have them ready come Dec. 1 and mail them all early in the month, trickle them out over the month....etc. I would think they'd send them out early to get responses back by end of Dec or so. I'm just curious....and anxious too 🙂

Thanks

p.s. Go Hokies!!

at UCONN i was told that we could call and find the status.

at IUSD, i was told by the Dir. of adcom that he gets to his office at 5 am (3 am my time) just to email all acceptances and that i could call him whenever i woke up. guess what? i'd be up all night waiting for that 3am my time to call him.

god i can't wait!

From what ive heard in the past, if a decision is made you should expect a letter on dec. 1st or a few days before or after. It sounds like they send them all out in a batch. And I believe that this year Dec. 1st is a monday ( I think ) so id assume most schools would send out letters Thurs. or Fri.

i bet most schools will email you as well. i am sure we won't forget to check our emails oooh about 25 times/hr on DEC1.

not me, i probably wont get an interview till 2004.

Yes, some schools will put stuff in the mail early (if Dec 1. is a Monday), while others will wait until that day.

Some will drop emails out on Dec. 1 or afew days prior.

Above all, don't hesitate to call the schools and ask them about your application status!

Some of the sweetest words I heard last year were on Dec. 2 (the 1st was a Sunday) when admissions offices said "You've been accepted, congratulations".

On Dec 1, some call, some e-mail, and some snail mail. Some snail mail just before Dec 1. Some wait up to 2-3 weeks after Dec 1 to activate their first round of acceptance notices. Snail mail can take up to a week plus to get from east coast to west coast and vice versa.

I have yet to hear of any school which sends out vouchers for all expenses paid 1 month vacations to Tahiti along with their acceptance notices.
