Hi all, can u please explain....

Q)Each of the following is commonly associated with congestive heart failure EXCEPT ONE??which is the exception??

choice1- dyspnea
choice2-cyanosis
choice3-anasarca
choice4-ankle odema
choice5-passive congestion of liver

accodring to answer key- answer is C-anansarca

i am confused,i dunno, isnt choices 1,2 concerned with left heart failure and choice 3,4,5 with right heart failure,I even checked wikipedia🙁 i dunno may be I am just freaking out and getting saturated,

i;ll appreciate your inputs,thnaks🙂

u r right with ur answers.. i want to belive they wont be that tricky in the exam.. i think the logic behind choosing anasacra is that this status is seen mainly in hypoalbuminenia..but anasacra can also be seen in very severe chf..

Yes. All choices are legit but anasarca is an extreme in CCF symptomatology. Symptoms arising out of pulmonary and portal circulation will be more immediate effects of pathophysiology of ccf.

thnk you all for putiing ur input, it really helps🙂,I have two more problems.

Q89) Adult respiratory distress syndrome might be caused by each one of the given below, EXCEPT ONE???

1)SHOCK
2)HEROIN OVER DOSE
3)VIRAL PNEMONIA
4)CIGRATTE SMOKING
5) BREATHING 100% O2

According to me, smoke also cause distress syndrome, but ans to this ques is choice 4-cigrette smoking...

can somebdy also explain me the reason to this ans and I m even confused about choice 5, can sombdy please explain?? i understand chocies 1,2,3.

Q81) Individuals with severe, uncomplicated pulmonary emphsema might be expected to show which of the following???

1) cough
2)chest pain
3)normal or incresed TLC
4) difficulty when breathing in inspiration

ans is 3,
in emphysema isnt true that lung's bcome fibrous therefore the surface area for gaseous exchange decreases but i m confused abt this ans too..

thank you soo much....

thank you soo much....

first..ARDS is a problem with the diffusion of gas from alveoli to capillary..
in smoking due to radicals formation the membrane is getting thicker hence ARDS.. I think that ARDS is seen in people how drawn in the pool also..

the second question.. emphysema is the opposite of fibrosis,,
in fibrosis,,loss of eleasticity--less compliance less air capacity--tlc goes down,
in emphysema there is lose of elasticity, the lung become more compliant and therefore tlc incraes,,

correct me if im wrong..

anasarca is the correct answer coz it means generalized oedema..... in LHF we have systemic edema and in RHF we have pulmonary edema.... but not generalized full body edema....

i hope u got the concept..... best of luck

the rest two questions... i've replied to them in other post..... just keep workin hard and make ur concepts clear.....
