I'm a senior in high school, residing in Florida. I've been accepted to the following schools:

University of Florida
Florida International University
University of Central Florida
University of South Florida
New College of Florida

I currently live in Miami; therefore, FIU is the school that is nearest in distance. I don't really like Florida International University as a school, but all my family lives nearby and I've never been away from home for an extended period of time. I find it a bit intimidating leaving home for the first time. Additionally, I get homesick very easily. I went on a two-week vacation to the Dominican Republic once, and it wasn't much of a vacation because I was depressed the entire time due to the aforementioned homesickness.

University of Florida and New College of Florida are the schools that most interest me, but my best friend didn't get accepted to them (we've known each other since elementary school). If I go to either one of them, I won't know anybody and will have to make new friends. And, as mentioned already, I'll be away from family. My friend has been accepted to University of Central Florida and University of South Florida, though.

I don't know what to do. Can anyone provide some insight? If it helps, my intended major is Chemistry, and of course (by the nature of this site), I'm intending to pursue a medical education.
