Have heard anecdotes from people that this week is traditionally EXTREMELY slow in terms of schools reviewing primary/secondary applications and sending out IIs because this week is the first week where schools can officially accept students so admissions members around the country are more focused on that rather than the initial review process?

Any truth to this matter from those more knowledgeable about the process/inside the process?

I’ve gotta say, watching people get acceptances today on the school specific threads from the schools that have already rejected me pre-II really pinches.

I mean, I’m happy for them obviously. But I’m human, you know?

But to answer your question, I would imagine that it depends on the degree of overlap between how many individuals participate on making II offers vs acceptance offers. If a school has a separate group of individuals just for pre-II screening and they aren’t involved in making acceptance offers then I don’t see why the II rollout has to slow down *insert shrug emoji which, for some reason, I cannot find*

Keep in mind, though, that I’m pulling all of this out of my butt. So it may or not be accurate.
