deferred admission

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
To my knowledge, they generally do not allow it for their international spots. Domestic applicants are another story, as they are usually allowed to defer to finish an honours year/professional designation studies.

Pitman and others would probably have a better idea though.

I think USyd allows international students to defer because they had a webinar a few weeks ago and a current Sydney med student from the US told us that she had deferred a year. I think she said it was to finish up a research project or something.

My bad. 😳 I was thinking about UQ when I wrote my response.

There's certainly no Australia policy -- it's up to the school, at the school's whim. Give the interested school a call and ask (and then report back!)

ha I think if an Australian school sees an email from me one more time they are likely to reject me on the spot without even seeing my application! 😛

I'll email them in a few weeks, I think I've missed the deadline anyways so by the time I do apply next year it shouldn't matter as I should have finished grad school by then anyways.

Now if only I met the 8/8/8 cutoff I'd be golden (11/7/11)
