(Before you ask, yes, I did search the forums)

Does anyone have any thoughts about the Deja Review series as supplemental study material? I'm thinking of trying it for micro, specifically. I'm intrigued by the format--I tend to gravitate toward practice questions and flash cards for memorization--but I'm not sure the extent to which it really provides an overview of the subject rather than just being a random set of questions.

I own like 10 of the DejaReview books (I had a phase when I was OCD about ordering every resource available).

The only one that I found very good for boards prep was specifically the DejaReview USMLE Step1 book.

The others have some helpful info, but they are way too vague or way too specific for boards purposes. Some people might disagree and say that the DejaReviews are overall very helpful, but now that I've done >10,000 practice questions and have a very good idea as to what the USMLE is looking for, the info in the DejaReview series books just doesn't pack the punch. I found them to be good mostly just for touching up on weaker areas during MS2.

I used DejaReview USMLE Step1 as an adjunct alongside BRS Pathology to help solidify concepts, but if you're within 3 months of your exam, I wouldn't touch a single one of the books.

Off Topic but i have a question for you:
I'm a med 2 student. I decided to start studying early for the boards. I want to subscribe to 2 question banks so i could do one throught the year and start the other two months before i sit for the exam. How does that sound? And which qbanks should i chose?
