Delay in score reporting for CK

Just read an announcment by USMLE that it will be an additional 3-4 weeks on top of the usual 3-4 weeks for test takers in August due to the new question formats (media).
I took mine yesterday and called to ask if I would be affected too, and yes.... all people taking it from late July on will be delayed. Just my luck.

Thought I would let everyone know since it was not posted yet, they put it on the USMLE.org website on July 23rd.

The target date for reporting Step 2 CK scores for most examinees testing from August 3 through late August will be Wednesday, September 19, 2007. It is possible that scores will be available earlier than this date; please check this website for updates.

They're probably being conservative over the phone. I take mine tomorrow, and while I suppose it's possible it may be delayed, I will be expecting it starting mid-August. If anything, they should speed up scoring the tests up to Aug. 3 and spend more time scoring those funky "multimedia" : tests.

I don't know about that - but I do know that many step II takers have reported results in 21-31 days after their test date. Of course the Multimedia kids will have a bit of a delay.

I guess that means no multi-media crap for me. Boy am I glad I scheduled this thing when I did.

No the mutimedia thing starts from Aug1. The delay is there every year on August from 3-4 till mid to late.
But I dont think its a big deal, coz they say at max 5 questions. Who know some of these 5 might be xperimental.
I had delay in Step1 scoring , now it will be in step 2 as well......damn

Why would they give specific dates if they didn't mean it.. it says august 3rd through the end of august in the announcement. I'm guessing if you take it on august 2nd you will get your scores on time.

I sure hope you are right... I called the nbme and emailed them to see. Hopefully the lady on the phone was just being safe, and no reply to my email yet. I only called because in 7 weeks I will be off on away rotations and wont be at home to get my scores. Oh well, if I have to wait then I will, I'll just have to get my mail forwarded to my away rotation address for a month!

I just took it yesterday and when I finished, the last screen said i should expect my score in 6 weeks.

Yea, I think the final screen always says that. They say that most people get there scores within 6 weeks. They go on to say not to call before six weeks. I think they use that as a disclaimer so they dont have test takers calling every day trying to find out when their scores are coming.

Just got an email back from the NBME. If you take the exam BEFORE August 3rd it will be 3-4 weeks to recieve your score. On or after the 3rd it will take 6-8 due to the new question format.
