Hi all,

I'm currently about a month into content review with a TPR course and am feeling like I've just hit a brick wall. I've been studying roughly 7:30-5 6 days a week for the past month and I feel like I can't fit anymore content in my brain. I'm about 1/2-3/4 of the way through the content. I have a tentative date of August 19th but content review isn't over until July 31st which would leave me with 3 weeks to go through AAMC practice material. I haven't seen any significant improvement in my scores yet although I am taking a practice exam this weekend so we'll see what happens then.

I'm also moving to a new state to maintain residency in order to apply to my state school (long story) which was planned to be after I take the MCAT.

My question is, should I delay my test date till January so that I can avoid burnout and have much more time to practice over a longer period of time? Or will this also cause burnout and do I just need to suck it up and take an august MCAT?

Thanks for the help!

If you absolutely aren't able to finish review any earlier than that, have things going on, and think that the small window of time for practice passages (which are arguably where the greatest improvements come from) will be enough and your AAMC FLs give you reason to believe you will do well, go for it. Those are my two cents, but when it comes down to it if you don't feel ready to take it then don't.

Thanks for the help! I think part of my problem is wanting to tackle both content review and practice at the same time and see improvement immediately which is probably not realistic.
