I know there are a zillion posts about how long is safe to wait to submit your AMCAS, and when it's most busy, and how long you'll have to wait for verification, etc., but I didn't see anything about my question in particular, so here I am.
I'm trying to become a member of a group that I feel would be a good EC to put on my application. However, I'm taking the entrance test this week and it takes about 2 weeks to hear if I'm accepted, so I won't hear back until a couple days after submissions are allowed.
I know everyone on here has said that it is fine to apply within the first month, but I'm not exactly a TOP candidate (3.34/31R). Plus everyone I've talked to (my doctors, doctors I've shadowed, random people with relatives or friends who are doctors) has stressed that it is of UTMOST IMPORTANCE TO APPLY AS SOON AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE ON THE VERY FIRST DAY so that I have the best chance possible.
So what do you think? Will 2-3 days really make a difference? How many people do you think send in their apps in the first couple days/week? If I send in my application the first day and then get into the group a few days later, I don't want to have to go through the re-verification process and have a setback in my applications. But I also don't want to have a ton of people apply before me and then find out I wasted a couple days for nothing.
Sorry if this seems like a really trivial or stupid question, but I'm just really worried (and really hopeful for this membership to come through).
Thank you!
