Are you from the Riverside region or Inland Empire or do you have ties there? Otherwise, UCR may not be a wise choice to apply to.PLEASE DO NOT QUOTE THIS MESSAGE

Please be more specific with your role as a mentor. It might sway some interest, but I'm not sure it places you outside your comfort zone and shows your ability to be comfortable around those in dire need or distress. Crisis text line is also nice, but it is not in-person experience, so this activity may not be as valuable. As a result, you could be lacking in "service orientation" activities outside of clinical roles, which puts your application in a position of getting screened out at most schools.Non-clinical volunteering

Okay. So how are you involved with their families/parents in this role?I worked with at-risk youth who were dealing with living in communities facing a lot of extenuating circumstances (houselessness, gun violence, drug use, etc). I was specifically working with them to empower them to seek other opportunities in their community and building up their advocacy skills to fight for what they wanted in their community.
I appreciate your insight.
Have you done any of these programs?would be interested in potentially pursuing an MD/MPH
Thank you Faha. I will cut Loyola from my list. You have a good list and should receive several interviews. Loyola expects far more non clinical volunteering hours than you have.
