why do you think they didn't see the email?Hi everyone!
I was wondering if any current UoP dental students could advise me on what things I can do to increase my chances of receiving an interview.
I have a solid application and personal statement. I say that because I have 9 interviews already, so I’m sure there is something in there.
As an NY resident, UoP is honestly my top choice and I’m desperate at this point.
I have 22 AA, 23 TA, 25 PAT, 25 BIO, 22 GC, 22 OC, 18 RC, 23 QR and 4.0 gpa
I have over 3000 hrs of dental assistant work at multiple offices, lots of meaningful volunteering both clinical and non clinical, research (poster presentation and award), I have a variety of leadership specially as dental assistant trainer, strong committee letter, Iranian immigrant with lots of adversities and challenges that I overcame which I mentioned on my application.
I can add any more details if it helps you. But please if anyone can give me advice, anything, that can actually help me, I would be more than grateful.
I sent them a letter of continued interest stating why I find their school a fit and updated them about my recent promotion to dental assistant trainer. But apparently, they didn’t see the email.
I would take a deep breath, focus on choosing between the schools that did interview you, and not worry about those that don’t. There are plenty of dental schools out there and they all lead to the same place.Hi everyone!

True but this has been my dream school for 2 years…I would take a deep breath, focus on choosing between the schools that did interview you, and not worry about those that don’t. There are plenty of dental schools out there and they all lead to the same place.

What letter? I think I told you, your metrics will make you attractive. You don't need a letter; you look like you're begging, and I'm not sure brand-name schools respond to moves of desperation unless they say they want to be courted. And those schools don't need to be courted.
At this point, who knows. You probably have been following the UoP and Roseman threads to gauge if there are any interview days/slots left. At this point, I suspect that all fall slots are filled, and nothing will be available until after Decision Day.
Look: YOU ARE SLAYING THIS PROCESS! You have 9 II's (including OHSU as an OOS!). If you don't get an A, I'd be shocked. If additional schools decide to throw an II after December to you, give yourself the safety net and begin to prioritize among those schools where you interviewed. Some of those schools may even throw you a significant scholarship, but start doing the math for cost of attendance and travel. I know you are very worried about debt, and with 9 schools you need to anticipate your strategy.
If you sent these schools "update/love letters," great. I hold that there is no causation between sending "update/interest letters" and getting IIs "immediately"... or at least you shouldn't believe that. Your screening score tells us where you fall in the process. So does the number of available interview spots. If we respond, we're being nice because our parents (dean/director) told us to be nice and confirm receipt. I assure you, the UoP team probably saw your note.
It's very possible you will get more IIs to fill post-December spots. Maybe that's how other schools (including the Ivys) will play because your metrics are high (yield protection). The great sorting hat in the sky will figure this out. If UoP is not one of them, that's their loss, and it's for the best. But you're probably going to dental school with an offer in hand before the end of the year.

frankly, i'm shocked that "other schools" answereddidn’t answer the email. Other schools did when I sent them the letter.
admissions committees are VERY busy right now, and they don't have the time/manpower to answer every email or call
there are tons of people across the country who would kill for a portion of your stats and interview invites
i suggest you practice for the interviews you do have, enjoy your visits (in person and virtually) to the schools
AND
(i won't say it because i'm making an effort not to be annoying on this forum)
