Hi 2ndave,
I think you have a good shot at getting in, at least here in Denmark (don't know too much about Sweden). I'll tell you how the application system works. You may know some of this already, but here goes:
Medical school applicants are divided into 2 "quotas", each comprising about half of the seats. The first quota applies solely on the basis of their gymnasium (high school + 1 year) grades. The second quota applies on the basis of gymnasium grades, work/volunteer experience, other degrees, travel experience, personal statement and so on.
If you indeed have a whole bacehlor's degree (and I bet some other stuff to fill in) you have a very good shot at getting in.
The problem for most foreigners is the language. You have to pass a test called Danish Test 2 to be able to apply. My wife is American and her Danish is quite good. She failed it twice before finally passing it. Then at some point you have to pass another test, Danish Test 3, to be able to stay in school.
Unfortunately, the application deadline is sometime in March. So you won't be able to start in September. Classes start both January and September but, incredibly, the application date is the same (middle of March).
Come to think of it, I have a couple of classmates who have college degrees from the US. One girl got credit for quite a few classes.
