I’m a dentist from India with four years of clinical experience. I’ve been living in Canada for the past five years, working as a Dental Assistant.
My family and I are considering relocating to Saudi Arabia or the UAE in the future. As part of my career advancement, I’m planning to pursue advanced dental education in the U.S. next year—most likely an AEGD (Advanced Education in General Dentistry) program.
I’m trying to find out if AEGD is recognized in the Gulf (especially Saudi Arabia and the UAE). Is it considered equivalent to a Master’s degree in dentistry there, or would going the DDS route be more beneficial?
Also, if I ever decide to return to Canada, would an AEGD be recognized here, or would I still need to go through the full equivalency exam process?
