i have the opportunity to buy a 2009-2010 dental decks for $80. I will be taking the boards part 1 in 2015. would these decks still be valid, since not much changes in science? Thank you

Yep, they will be OK and that's a fair price. You are getting them plenty early, by the way. If I were you I would try to borrow a set sometime in the next year.

I would say go for atleast 2012-13 decks.. they are much more better than 08-09.. 08-09 are good for basic but 2013-14 or 12-13 focus on current trade. types of question they are asking now a days...
