hi,
does anyone know the english requirement for dental school? I went to their website and most of them note that 2 semester of english. I have two quarters of english class that worth 10 credit. After converting to semester unit, it will be equal to 6.66 semester unit. Normally, 1 semester english is 3 unit. Do I satisfy english requirement of dental school? can anyone help? thanks

Best advice: ask the schools you intend to apply to. SDN speculation will only get you so far.

Which school are you inquiring about? Some have full year English requirements, some have half year, some have none at all.

Don't worry too much about the English requirement. I only had 3 English credits and landed 6 interviews (3 pre-Dec, 3 post-Dec) with 2 acceptances on Dec. 1. In fact, when I brought it up to an admissions officer during the summer when I applied, he said not to worry because he can vouch for my mastery of the English language lol, even though his school had a 6 or 8 credit requirement. Schools just want to make sure that you are literate and have some writing skills. This can be determined thru your PS and DAT RC score.

wow, really. which school did you apply? I was so worry about the prerequisites since some of them need 8 english credit and some of them need 6 english credit. However, i only have 6 credit. BTW, i realize that some of school require psychology and i didn't take it when i was in college. Do i really need to take it ?

If you really want to go to a school that has psychology as a pre-req, then yes you need to take psychology. Otherwise, just don't apply to those schools.

I applied to 14 schools and never had any issues. Among the 6 interviews, 3 of them were to Ivy/Ivy-caliber schools and 3 of them were to OOS solid schools.

The "softer" requirements (psych, sociology, etc) can be taken before matriculation. These schools usually give conditional acceptances if you're missing a softer requirement.
