Hi,

If you were to enroll in US military dental officer training program, what is the requirement?
I am a Canadian who is looking to get into dental school in US with minimal debt. Plus I love the army.

Thanks

There is no such program, Canuck...

You would need to defect or win a US visa or somehow get to the US in order to eventually become a citizen (usually 5 years) to be able to serve in the US military as a commissioned officer.

You will probably need to be a US citizen first in order to apply for any scholarship program leading to a commission--unless the rules have changed.

You'll also have to apply and be accepted to a US dental school, too, so you'd have to be s h i t hot as a Canadian.

How come you can't do it at home?

Hi,

Well, I would love to do it here. But as you probably know, there are only 8 dental schools in canada. There are 2 schools in my province and they require 3.9 GPA to be competitive.

Considering that I have 3.8 GPA, i don't have a good chance of getting in Canada. From the research I have done, with 3.8 GPA and over 20 DAT, I am competitive in almost any school in US.

Only if it weren't for the money...

You tried the US Public Health Service or the Indian reservation scholarship?
