What kind of opportunities to work in the field are open to undergraduate students? Other than assisting, what else can you do??

If you go to a university with a dental school, you may be able to find dental research

If you have a dental school nearby, there may be Impressions Day programs, Pre-Dental Days, Give Kids a Smile Day (by NCOHF), Dental Hygiene Day...

If not, there may be MOM programs in your area.

You should check with your local (school, county, or state) Dental Society.

We have undergrads in our dental school that work as patient escorts, lab techs, front desk, etc.
