Dental School Advise. Top Three From List?

I have interviewed at these schools. I wanted to know, beyond the front that schools put up, what's the real deal with them?

Actually though none of these schools are the supposedly "prestigious" ones so my choice in ranking them would be based off of cost, culture of the school, how much I like the location, and finally how close it was to home. Patients don't care about where you get your degree from and according to the dentists I shadowed you learn more out of school than in it.

The ones I picked were cheapest as well on the list even if he is OOS for all.

Quality of education is more important to me than cost.

Some schools graduate dentists with 2X more experience and than others. Exposure to different procedures and access to patients is more important to me.

VCU is my top choice so far, they introduce students to the clinic earlier than any other school I've visited.

I've also heard some troubling things about Nova, anybody else can confirm?

I get where you're coming from but CE costs a lot less than OOS tuition plus 7% interest. From what I've heard your experience in clinic has a lot to do with your drive and hustle to get patients and can vary tremendously. VCU is a good school.

That 450k oos tuition will set you back way more than early clinical time will set you forward. Unless mom and dad are paying for school the best school is the cheapest school IMO. If you’re not paying for it then cudos, go where you want, but if you are you should definitely reconsider your priorities for a school.

You should also consider which programs offer what residencies because those that offer more residency programs have more residents and therefore the students get less opportunities clinically, despite how early they get into clinic.

I've paid for every school I have attended. Dental school will be the same. Cost is Important to me, just not the most important thing.

VCU is solid! And yes you’re very right the quality of education is super important 🙂

I never considered that OP might be on the HPSP or trying to get it... if cost truly isn't an issue go with the school you that you thought the students were the happiest at.

MWU AZ will get you the most procedures. No residence there. You could do 15 implants. Some students did some type of sinus surgery because they spent time with the oral surgeons. All of which comes with 500K debt

Oh if you got HPSP go to Midwestern lol. But I also wonder how many of the procedures you learn at Midwestern AZ do you actually get to practice/see in the military

Both Midwesterns will give you amazing experience and exposure to many advanced cases and procedures. But only go if its your cheapest option or hpsp
