I have e-submitted my aadsas application during the last week of november. I know that it was a bit late but definitely before the deadlines of the designated schools I chose. I am still trying to get my letters of recommendation in as well. My gpa isn't that great either (2.32 science gpa; 3.08 non science gpa; 2.61 overall gpa). My DAT score however is pretty good (AA 19 PAT 22 TS 18). Ive applied to New York University, Marquette, Southern Illinois University, Midwestern University - IL, and University of Illinois at Chicago. Considering all those factors, plus my volunteering and shadowing hours, am I likely to be atleast considered for an interview? Please give me some insight or advice, ive been stressed out for over a week. maybe apply to a graduate school just incase if i dont get in any of my dental schools?

You need to work on this. A lot of schools have GPA cut-offs and I believe that they generally will not look at you if you're below a 3.0. Science and overall GPA are more important than non-science GPA, so you're definitely going to have to work on that.

How many science classes have you taken in college?

I am very sorry, but your stats are way below average. I wish you had made a thread on here before you submitted your application. 2.32 sGPA and 2.61 overall is very low...

You need to do a plan b. Consider graduate school and try to salvage what remains of your GPA.

I agree that OP needs to do Plan B, however are any schools going to look at OP with a high graduate GPA with his undergrad GPA being so low? I feel like from other people's experiences on this forum, OP needs to raise his undergrad GPA to a 3.0 (if possible) by doing a post-bacc and THEN kick ass at a master's program.

OP, it might be worthwhile to check out a thread called the Under 3.0 Club (or something similar). You'll see stories of people who started out with a sub-3.0 GPA and the steps they took to improve themselves there.

sorry to tell you this man, but I think you should've saved your money for the next cycle (better chance when applied early). Even so, I would apply to a non-thesis masters program + retake the DAT, just to make up for the 3.0 gpa.

Thanks everyone for your input, i kinda assumed that this would be the case. I was just too over confident that maybe at least one school may consider me. I didnt realize that GPA requirements were set in stone because most dental school websites didn't show a minimum required GPA. All I was looking at were the stats of average (mean) GPA. I already got a letter from midwestern saying I got denied. Something tells me that my GPA could be even low for applying to graduate schools (specifically graduate school of public health).
