Please forgive me for asking the SAME questions that I am sure have been asked MANY times over...but here goes:
I am currently a Physician Assistant and am considering a career in dentistry. I understand that much of the pre recs are the same that were required for PA school as well as med school.
Is the DAT similar to the MCAT...if so how, if not how?
Once in dental school, are the first two years didactic like medical school and the final two years rotaion based curriculum?
Thanks in advance!

DAT tends to be more straight forward than MCAT. It is easier than the MCAT in that you don't have to do as much reasoning based on what you studied. Dental school is similar to med school, first 2 years didactic and 2nd 2 yrs is clinical education. Residency afterwards is optional.

Just out of curiousity, why the switch from P.A. to dentistry? Do you not like the P.A. lifestyle? It seems like a pretty good job to me.

The first two years of dschool are didactic just like med school, plus dental classes and labs, which can be extremely time consuming but actually pretty enjoyable(if i wasn't so stressed out about my sciences classes). you take part one boards after 2nd year and 3rd and 4th years are pretty much practicing on patients 8-5 with a few classes here and there.
