I am a recent graduate with a Bachelors in Biochemistry. Considering the AA program at emory university and dental school. i have taken all the necessary prereqs for both. I have also taken the MCAT, GRE, and am taking the DAT next week (as you can see I'm indecisive). All i know is that i want to work in healthcare and have reasonable hours. I am trying to justify the extra school and debt that Dental school would require. On the other hand, I am worried that AA's will only be able to work rough hours (call, nights and weekends) and only be able to work close to large cities (I live in Ga= ATL).
Which career do you think would be better in terms of job security, flexibility, stress, work hours.
and
Compensation, taking into account 2 years of school for AA and 75k in debt versus 4 years of dental school and 150k in debt + the cost of buying a practice.

thoughts?

why work for someone else when you can work for yourself....go with dentistry

"as long as I'm making 6 fig, I don't mind to be a doctor, a dentist, or a AA..." Why not go for a CEO position of some big @$$ company, who wanna make 6 fig when you can make 7!

Have you shadowed any of these careers?
Be an optometrist if all you care about is an easy medical related job and want to make 6 figs. It's not as competitive as dentistry, average salary is maybe 20k or 30k less than that of a dentist. Dentistry can be pretty stressful. I love it, but it's not for everyone.
