Hello! I am currently applying to Dental School and because there are no official ranking of dental schools, I was hoping that you guys could give me some insight on different dental schools. I mainly wondering what your opinions were on University of Michigan's Dental School versus The Ohio State University's Dental School. Any advice/opinions would be much appreciated! Thanks

U of M is better than OSU in everything

If you all were to pick an A teir of maybe 8-10 dental schools, who would you include?

okay so I know that overall u of m has a better reputation as an university than osu but I was wondering if U of M's dental school is actually better than osu's and why? Im an ohio resident and I was wondering if it would be worth it to pay out of state tution and go to u of m or not? If I could get actual facts that would be awesome! thankss 🙂

It would be crazy for you to pay the out of state tuition at Michigan. I don't hate Michigan nearly as bad as other Ohio Staters (I only hate them one Saturday each year 😉 )...and I think it is a great university. However, I'm convinced your dental training won't be significantly better at one or the other, so save yourself 100k.

The schools are so different from each other that there really isn't a "better" school than another. They are all different. It all depends on what you are looking for. Some schools are a lot more clinical based, and others are a lot more academically/researched based. Honestly, go with the cheaper school. No school will prepare you for being a dentist, and you should do enough ce out of school that 5-10 years out of school you don't use too many of the techniques you learned in dental school. But 5-10 years out of dental you probably will still be paying off your loans.

i'm an ohio resident to who went to umich for undergrad. honestly, ann arbor is awesome but as far as tuition for sure osu is fine. all the dental schools are good, so go wherever is financially ok if that is the limitation.

Go CHEAP!!!!!!

im from jersey and i currently attend u of M...i think this has been the best choice i have ever made in my life

Ann Arbor is awesome...the people here are soo nice its kinda scary...people open doors for u and say hi...in jersey u get the finger for a hello

the admin really gives a **** about the students..they actually listen to the students and care if we are happy...plus the clinical education here is amazing the pre-clinic is kicking!!! def hit up u of m

Somone told me that it costs about half a million for a dental chair, and I don't believe it. how much $ does a normal dental chair cost?

Any comparison on Columbia vs. NYU vs. Stonybrook? Which one offers the most clinical experience?!!

Maybe something like ? :
UPenn
Harvard
Columbia
UMich
UNC
UCSF?
UCLA?
UConn
UW

(the Texas schools I'll leave out)

Then what about TUFTS, BU, VCU, UofP, IOWA, UIC?

What makes these schools the top A tier as you claim? Is it becuase some of the schools you listed are "IVY League"?

Top Bottom
