dental shadowing: include on medical school app?

I was pre-dental a few years ago and am now applying to medical school. I shadowed a dental clinic back then for a summer I am now wondering if it would hurt to include it on my application (after all, it is clinical experience of a sort). I imagine however that an LOR from the dentist there would not help lol.

Unless you feel that the shadowing was extremely important, I would not include dental shadowing. I personally would not include in my app, as it would seem like you were indecisive in career choice.

I don't think it hurts to show that you've explored other careers in medicine. Hopefully your physician shadowing is at least equally strong and with a couple of specialties and you have clinical experience, actively working with sick people, rather than just as a passive observership.

Yeah, it helps you answer the question, why medicine instead of X? Include it. It shows you've considered other fields but still want to do medicine.
