To preface this I'd like to say that probably the rules will change some before I will/or maybe not apply for HPSP but I'm just wondering about the current regs.

I am just wondering that if a dental student takes the HPSP scholarship for say 4 years, completes D school and gets into a civillian specialty program, how likely would you to get the deferment for the 2 years and the serve your 4 or more with the military?

Also, if one does a dental specialty program (24 month) with the army, how much is the payback period increased?

TIA

bump...

I am guessing this would similar to a doc receiving deferment for residency (but in this case it would only be 2 years).
