Hi all,

I am new to this forum. I sometimes have questions about the theory we learn. Just wondering, is it possible to ask those dentistry specific questions here?

Thanks

Stacker your avatar is badass, I have no idea why Darth Vader would need to pour water in a glass though... haha... he could just use the force.

OP, do you mean ask questions about material in dental school?

Yeah, it's just that I don't see any of these posts so I thought I was in the wrong section.

Anyway, why are labial and lingual outlines more well developed in upper anterior teeth than the lowers?

Guh?

I don't know what you mean exactly. Are you asking why the outline "silhouette" of the upper anterior teeth is more defined or are you asking why the surfaces themselves (the labial and lingual) have more defined features like lingual grooves and pits.

Either way, to be honest, I have no idea. I would just assume it's because that's how they have developed through evolution over the eons and not really have a lot more thought about it. In the same way, I don't know why my pinkie is shorter than the finger next to it or why some people have 2nd toes that are longer than their big toe.
