I doubt there will be any testimony - there's no-one to examine and I haven't heard of any prior psychiatric treatment. It will be declared murder/suicide by the coroner - no-one's going to care about motive.

Even if the mother was still alive and it did go to trial, there would likely be 2 testifying forensic psychiatrists since capacity would be the central issue. It would have been interesting to hear from both the prosecution and defense.
