I've heard there have been one or more dept chair changes at Davis, but haven't been able to find it easily searching the forums. Can anyone who has interviewed/rotated there or IS there comment? Seems like it wouldn't affect residents as much as a PD change would. But a former faculty member I talked to made it sound like things were a little sketchy there a couple years ago.

Thanks!

I did a rotation there back in August and there was no mention or indication of any internal problems or chair issues. Everyone there was extremely happy and the faculty was excellent. Out of the 3 months of EM I did earlier this year, I had my best month at Davis. PM me if you have any specific questions.

They went through a chair switch a few years ago and did a reorganization. The up side was that they got department status. Prior to 2004 they were a division of IM. The interim chair was a pulm/crit care/tox guy (Tim Albertson) who has now handed it over to Nate Kupperman who is a peds EM doc and is a nationally known researcher. The faculty there is first rate and it seems like they've come through the whole thing really well, stronger in fact and are looking good.
