I'm a first year in med school and I'm looking at Derm as a potential route. I was wondering what things other than grades and high board scores you need to make yourself competetive in Derm residencies specifically. Do you need research, papers from that...does the research have to be specifically in dermatology or can it be in something else if you can get papers out of it?
