Dermatopathology

I have a friend who is interested in finding out more about Dermatophology. I understand it's a fellowship that you can enter either from Path or Derm. Can anyone tell me how competitive it is and what kind of credentials programs are looking for? Are the programs skewed toward taking Derm or Path residents given that both can enter it? Thanks in advance.

It is very very competitive. Yes, both derm and path residents can go into dermpath. I would say most programs are probably skewed to taking path residents, but I don't know for sure. To be competitive you need super scores, research and you need to get to know the dermpath folks. Because right now it is more who you know than most people would like to admit.
