How many molecules are linear: NH4+, HCN, SF6, CO2, H2S, HCl.
The answer is HCN and HCl, but can ionic compound have molecular geometry? I looked it up, and what I found was ionic compound does not have a defined molecular geometry. Anyone can clarify this for me?

Thanks
