so i'm just starting destoryer so i'm going to probably be having a bunch of questions heres the first.
gen chem # 4

consider the physical states of Cl2, K, W, Pb, Br2 and Sb which will be liaquids at 25 degrees C

do you just have to know this or what?

Well look at the periodic table. There are metals and non-metals. Metals are solid, except for mercury which you know isn't as you have seen mercury thermometers.

Everything else is a non-metal. Cl2, H2, etc. Most are gases, cept Br2.

You should be able to get mercury maybe. Not really sure how you would know Br2 is a liquid except by just memorizing/knowing it for some reason.

Just one of destroyer's detailed trick problems. I would not worry about it, but that's just me. Just know generally metals = solid, etc.

I guess you'd just have to know it. There's only very rudimentary knowledge involved. K, W, and Pb are all metals... Sb is a metalloid. Cl2 is a noxious gas. Br2 is a dark reddish brown liquid. You should have come across that in chem lab.

*edit*
btw only elemental bromine and mercury are liquid at room temp. There are some other uncommon elements that melt at about 300K
