#47 in destroyer... which compound below will absorb UV light at the longest wavelength? Anthracene?

Someone please tell me that's a little overkill

Longest wavelength=lowest frequency=most conjugated double bonds. Anthracene and Napthalene have a lot of conjugation..so which has more?

If they wanted shortest wavelength=highest frequency=triple bond without conjugation.

lol i had just never heard of anthracene and was wondering if thats overkill

good explanation purplepanda. I'd just add that highest wavelength is most stable because its the one at the lowest energy level.

And i don't think its overkill to be familiar with anthracene and napthalene for instance.
