Absolutely not dude.. Were regular students just like everyone else on here... We just used his product, it really helped us out.. bigtime.. and now were trying to pass the info along and share the love.. We could very easily keep quiet and not let anyone know about the destroyer... that would be better for us, cause technically were competition for each other.... but we sill choose to spread the word about it.. if your not believing us, then dont try it.. but im telling you, we (myslelf included) dont work for Doc.. where actually just customers of his... we paid HIM money...

I agree. I find it highly peculiar that everyone mentions the exact same sentence: "Dr. Romano and Nancy were soooo helpful!". Very fishy, indeed.

I agree, who the hell is this Dr. Romano cat and his hooch nancy? Everythread has become an infomercial. The quality of this side of SDN has dropped becuase of it.
Predents, don't be fooled by this spam. You can do just fine w/o Dr romano.
I used Top Score Pro after I exhausted kaplan. I have seen Destroyer and didn't see any additional advantage, I scored 20+ in all sections.

I vehemently disagree. Many of you know that I have been around on the forums for a while. I have nothing but great things to say about the Dr. Romano and his product. A little story.... I e-mailed Dr. Romano about a week before my test asking about his product. He called me back and we spoke for a few minutes about the Destroyer before he asked me how long I had to study. I told him I had about a week left and he actually told me NOT to buy the Destroyer because he didn't think I would have enough time to benefit from it. I decided to buy it anyway and I can say without a doubt that it raised my scores significantly. Don't get me wrong, I probably would have scored above 20 anyway but there is no doubt in my mind that it is the reason I got a 29 in gchem and a 24 in bio.
My point is that I felt exactly the way you guys do before I spoke to Dr. Romano and Nancy and ordered the Destroyer. The reason you see everyone say that Dr. Romano and Nancy are so helpful is because they ARE. If you doubt, give them a call. They are two of the most genuine people I have had the pleasure of meeting (over the phone of course). They honestly care about how well you do on the DAT and that is a fact.
Kaplan doesnt get any love.
I think Nancy 👎 should be more professional trying to promote Dr. Romanos product but that's my 2-cents anyway. She made some rude comments about me on this forum but I got over it in ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm 1 second..LOL
From what I've heard, Dr. Romano's product seems to be GREAT..take a chance and use it..whatever can help you bring your score up...try it and you never know how many points you can improve..

haha this is also a question i've pondered. it seemed like all of a sudden there were DAT DESTROYER ads everywhere. but im a sucker and i bought it haha. this was my second time taking the dat and i was running out of materials to study. anyway, i really do think the bio helped me. the ochem and gchem i felt was too specific..kaplan was enough for that. but the ochem roadmaps were a really good review. by the way, i never called dr romano or nancy.

Dr Romano is truly great i dont know about anyone else on this board but i can tell you for a fact with my personal experience he has helped me tremendously with achieving my 22s on the DAT. Yes his work is very hard but it challenges you to work harder and know everythign their is too know concerning these topics. All i have to say is that by the time the DAT came around i felt extremely confident walkign into the test because, i knew i saw all the tricks and the hardest possible questions. Good luck to all and i can say that i am a firm supporter of the Destroyer. I took the Kaplan classes as well and i used to TOpscore for certian sections. SO it overall i feel like the more material you know the better you will do. Once again gluk!!

As a firm believer in what the DAT Destroyer can do to improve your scores, and as a strong supporter of the dedication Dr. Romano offers ALL of his students, I feel compelled to respond to all these posts that are unsure as to the validity of the product. I can tell you 100%, without a doubt, that everyone posting on SDN in support of Destroyer, is a real student just like you and I, and that they are simply satisfied customers. As a matter of fact, I know many of these people personally, and we ALL did very well on the DAT, in large part due to the Destroyer. I can understand the skepticism on this forum, but sometimes, when SO MANY people are posting positive feedback about something, you gotta just believe and give it a shot....it's just worth the chance to be a part of something that so many people have benefited from. And if you decide that you don't want to take that chance, thats OK...but at least don't make unfounded claims that the product doesn't help or that there is false advertising going on here - because from experience, I know its a fact that the product does help tremendously; from personal knowledge, I know that all these posts about Destroyer are from REAL people, who have REAL good scores, and just want to express their gratitude by posting positive feedback on the forum.

At the beginning of the summer when my colleagues and I were first starting Dr. Romano's DAT lectures I understood why people on SDN were getting upset that we were praising him. We were making him seem like this magical tool that was improving our DAT scores significantly. All of us attending his lectures knew though that eventually the whole SDN community would catch on that he really is a magical tool and also a really nice guy who is committed to the success of his students. I do agree that any student out there that is committed to his studies and is a dilligent student can get in the 20's on the DAT w/o Dr. Romano's help but they will be missing out on those few extra points here and there that Dr. Romano can help them achieve. Seeing how competitive dentistry is getting we all know we can use that extra boost. I'll be honest, I'm suprised that there are still haters out there that think this is a scam but that just teaches a life lesson that no matter how sincere a person is, there will always be that select few who have to bash it. Thats life guys, but for all of you out there that are using Dr. Romano to your advantage good for you and to all the Dr. Romano haters...Good luck on getting MY seat in the dental school of my choice.

i totally agree. no one's denying that destroyer might be helpful. BUT, there are definitely a couple of fake posters on sdn. glad i'm not the only one who feels this way🙂

Man, if we keep this up Dr Romano and Nancy will be busy as hell trying to positively respond to every negative post. They will be putting in some serious overtime pretending to be predents all night.

Absolutely brilliant post...pure genius...you're just too funny!!!👎 👎 And this is coming from someone who recently posted "that the quality of sdn is dropping"...hmmm....with people wasting post space the way you do, i wonder where that drop in quality is coming from??!! Maybe if you learn to use your time a little wiser, instead of wasting ur energy posting insipid, childish comments, you might have a CHANCE at passing dental school in the future.
All I have to say is that if you are skeptical about purchasing Destroyer, give Dr. Romano a call and speak to him on the phone. One conversation with him will prove to you what an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher he is and that all he wants to do ishelp students succeed. Then if you are satisfied, go ahead and do yourself a favor and BUY destroyer. I took my test for the 2nd time and I improved between 2-3 points in the sciences giving me solid scores 20+. I stand behind this product 100% and totally reccomend it to anyone who is interested in doing great on this test.

but isn't increasing 2-3 points on the sciences the norm? (even before the advent of destroyer). I came on here a long while ago, and that was the general consensus. Personally, my TS increased 5 points without Destroyer.

You know, dsmack has a point here. When I was gearing up for the DAT I came to the dat forum all the time for helpful hints, discussion etc. Of course, I am done now but I planned on visiting every now and again to help out if I could. But every single time I read a post, someone is selling the Destroyer in some way, and now I dont bother. I am sure that this is what dsmack was talking about. SDN old timers dont really like coming here anymore because it really has become an infomercial, and that is why the quality has dropped.

Do you guys think that the DAT Destroyer alone, if memorized, will help you get 20+ on the science sections??? Because I bought it, but I don't know if I should go over the kaplan blue book before I dive into Destroyer. And besides, I only have 1 month to study for the DAT. Any recommendations?

Use the destroyer as extra practice problems. Use it in conjunction with other practice sets out there. Peoples' scores tend to go up from their practice tests. People said a while back that if you can score about 18-19 on your practice tests on TopScore, you'll likely end up with 21-22 on the real thing. The same held true for me. My scores jumped up, even though I didn't use destroyer. The difference now is that once students see this quick jump, they now attribute that difference immediately to the destroyer. They now are giving potentially unwarranted credit to it. And for some reason, they feel the compulsion to mock students that go against what they say.
I've seen the Destroyer. It's not a miracle tool. Use it as extra problem sets to supplement what you already have.

exactly. if you only took the DAT one time, you can't say that your increase in score was due to the DESTROYER and not kaplan or whatever else you used. Personally, i got a 25 in oCHEM the first round of DAT's using only Kaplan and you dont see anyone advertising KAPLAN as a magical tool. (i used destroyer the second time and only got a 22 on ochem) im not trying here to prove that destroyer isn't useful or MAGICAL. it gave me extra problems to work on for bio and extra problems are great, period. my decrease in score was probably just me, period. i dont blame my decrease in score on destroyer, and i wouldnt say destroyer had that much to do with my increase in score either. i see it highly unlikely that people would so willingly attribute their high scores soley to the destroyer instead of ..i donno...ALL THE HARD work they put into the DAT.
to be honest, i HAVE praised destroyer on these forums. if people ask if destroyer is good, i write "destroyer is very good practice etc etc". but when i read other people practically EXCLAIM "OMG I OWE all my high scores to DAT DESTROYER. first, i would PERSONALLY like to thank DR. the destroyer is not a magical book, its for ppl who have a decent background in the sciences and are serious about LEARNING the material.
kaplan was a great test simulator, and had great reviews for the subjects.
Im legit...ive posted my scores on the "finished" thread, but 20/22/20 didnt come easy. it takes hard work and commitment. I personally thought that the destroyer helped a lot along the way, as well as kaplan for test conditioning.
drop it and lets get back to talking DATs!!!!

guys, THE DON is right. stop wasting your time on stupidity. use whatever you need to get the highest score possible. im using kaplan and i think it is great. i bought the detstroyer but im not using it until im done studying everything else. i dont care that people are praising it or bashing it, i will know for my self when i take the test.
Look as many of you know I have been on these forums for a long time. I have said this a million times and will continue to state that the Destroyer is highly effective. It is not a "magic" book. If you decide to purchase the destroyer read the solutions and study them as you would notes from one of your classes. When you feel that you have fully grasped the concepts THEN hit the questions. The destroyer is a study tool. You should use many such tools when preparing for such an important exam. In case some of you forgot these are forums meant to discuss and inform. Since these are DAT forums, it only makes since to recommend study material that seems to be beneficial. Instead of slamming people's opinions stop for a second and realize that these are people trying to help others out. Good luck to everyone.

I BOUGHT THE DESTROYER FROM LEARNING ABOUT IT ON SDN. It is awesome and truthfully, I never have heard of it before. Yes, I paid for it and it has helped me more than any other guide. It is challenging, yet to the point. The Bio section is awesome and the Chem is great too. I also spent about 1,000 on Kaplan's online program. It is good if you need to "re-learn" your sciences, but if you are decent at your sciences, I would get Destroyer. For all of you that think I am promoting the destroyer, I am not. I am just giving advice on what has helped me the most and built my confidence the most. Do what you need to do to prepare. If you need some great problems to work through that actually are like the real DAT, the destroyer is great. I am a post bacc student that needed a review and confidence, so this guide gave that to me. I am not great at the sciences, especially the chem sections, but know I feel I know more about Chem than when I took the classes. Good luck on your DAT! Let's all be mature and help each other towards our goals and not break down the positive SDN and those that put together guides for us to do well.

I LOVE THE DESTROYER. I "destroyed" the DAT with it.
And Dr. Romano and Nancy were so helpful. They were always available if I had a question. I could never have done it without you two and the wonderful Destroyer. I feel now that my dream to get into dental school is finally going to come true.
