Remember some common ones by writing them down on a flashcard or a postit note...Mnemonics for pediatric developmental milestones, review it every 3 days for 2 weeks.

1 year:
Single words.

2 years:
Climb 2 steps.
2 word sentences.
"Parallel" requires 2 things.

3 years:
Tricycle.
Repeats 3 digits.

4 years:
Copies a square [4 sides].
Shape copying:

Shapes are in alphabetical order: Circle(3yr), Cross(4yr), Square(5yr), Triangle(6yr).
The shapes are also in order clockwise around a PlayStation pad, starting at the 3:00 position and 3 years

This is a SIMPLIFIED version of the two-page table in the Kaplan Behavioral Science Lecture notes for the USMLE Step 1, with some added mnemonics from several different resources. If you think this is detailed, you should see what the original table looks like. Anyways, according to the guy who teaches Behavioral Science in the Kaplan videos, everything he covered in this table is high yield (which is like 75-80% of the table).

If you're struggling with the developmental milestones section in first aid, obviously don't use this whole table because it is more detailed than First Aid. Use the mnemonics in the lower row of the table, I found them useful.
