Hi everyone,

Last week I developed this really weird rash all over my lower back-they are red, the skin around it is unusually thin and peels, blisters, and this liquid seems to be emanating from it. I ignored them and put bandaides on them thinking something rubbed against my back but now all of a sudden I found another one on my leg!

Does anyone know what this could be?? I don't know when I'll be able to see a dermatologist but ANY suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Thank you so much.

I don't think anyone here will be able to help you more than offering a half-baked differential diagnosis based on what it "sounds" like you have... You should really seek out a physician or other health-care provider to take a look at ya.

You don't want your back to get all pus-y and infected and even more oozy than it already is. Bleh!

Please don't rely on any medical advice given on this wonky forum. You never know who these wackos are.

Cheers! And good luck...

i know, i know..i'm just really curious and since it seems like these symptoms are pretty unique, i was hoping for at minimum a few possible diagnoses.

The weird thing is that they kinda just randomly appear-the one on my leg for example, just popped up and the way I realized I had it was the juice coming from it kinda soaked a spot on my pants🙁

Does this sound like anything specific?

ddx

1. facticious disorder
2. pulmonary embolism
3. malingering
4. broken femur
5. ectopic pregnancy

GO SEE A DOCTOR! Blisters that ooze don't just pop up randomly. It could be something as simple as poison ivy it could be more serious. But seriously don't seek advice of non-qualified individuals here, go to the doctor. Good luck.

Have you had chicken pox? Shingles are from the same virus. Herpes is also a possibility. Get is looked at soon.

Sounds like some funky shingles!

Go get checked out ASAP.

were you in the pool before this happened? could be an allergic reaction from chlorine

no, it doesn't sound like shingles.

That's one hell of a ddx, there.

It's psychosomatic. You need a lobotomy. I'll get a saw

Reference?

I'm thinking:

1. Lesch-Nyhan Syndrome
2. Acoustic Schwannoma
3. Late-onset PKU
4. Gout
5. Scabies
6. Maple syrup urine disease
7. Princess Leia bun head disease

Have you been in the woods, beach, etc. lately, sounds like it could be a reaction from Poison Ivy.

Sounds like an raging, out-of-control Gardnerella vaginalis infection. You really should shower more often. 👎

Sounds like Acute Pseudonecrotizing Adenoblastomucorcolodermacentric Psorianeurogangliofibromitisosis.

...in situ

the sound of that is something quite atrocious

Bullous Pemphigoid
Pemphigus vulgaris

And our CTB teacher said we would never see a case of this but still decided to ask questions on it every single test we ever took.

Congrats! All of the above altogether are correct... partially though.

Whatever, triple antibiotics or/and hydrocortisone cream (for poison oak) is the way to go. Use the first if it hurts or the later if it itches, follow by the other if it doesn’t help. Go get something for athletic foot if both doesn't work. No response yet? See a funeral home director then.

Have you ever had a pounding sensation in the rectum?

okay putting all jokes aside, I managed to see two docs today
and the diagnosis is.....

<drum roll>

(assuming the biopsy and skin culture confirm).....................

it is bullous impetigo-some sort of skin infection...only God knows how I got it though....

Dude, I have my dermatology final tommorow so I think I know what Im talking about. Its hard to be sure withoug seeing it but it sounds like you have every dermatological disease I have learned about. I would like to say I could be sure if I saw a picture of it, but they all look alike to. In fact I am starting to think that dermatology is a sham. However you are in luck because it seems like all dermatological disease are treated with steroids. Just lather that rash up with some predinsone cream. Infact you should swallow some if it to just incase it is systemic.

J/K
